Milan's goalkeeper Marco Sportiello fully tore the ligament in the middle finger of his left hand due to an accident that occurred in his hotel room, according to Football Italia.
The Italian club confirmed that the goalkeeper underwent surgery on his hand in the USA. He will return to Italy in the coming days to begin his rehabilitation process, though the duration of his absence remains unknown.
In the past season, Sportiello participated in nine matches across all competitions for the club, achieving three clean sheets.
