Argentine forward Lionel Messi will undergo a medical examination after sustaining a thigh muscle injury during the group stage match against Chile at the Copa America, reports TyC Sports.
The footballer hopes that the injury is not serious, but it did hinder his performance during the match.
After the match Messi said:
I hope it's nothing serious. It was hard for me to move freely. Tomorrow we'll see how I feel.
Argentina secured a 1-0 victory over Chile on Wednesday. Messi started the game and played the full 90 minutes on the field. Overall, the forward has played two matches in the tournament, providing an assist in each.
After two rounds, Argentina has gained six points, guaranteeing a spot in the tournament's knockout stage. Messi's team will play their third group stage match against Peru on June 30th.
