Lionel Messi, the Argentine striker of Inter Miami CF, will return to the squad for the MLS match against Toronto FC, ESPN Argentina reported.
The Argentine previously missed the match against Atlanta United, which ended in a 2-5 defeat. Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino earlier cited muscle fatigue as the reason for the forward's absence.
Messi has been playing at the club since July 2023. The player's contract with Inter Miami runs until December 31, 2025. The Argentine played 11 matches in the team, scoring 11 goals and giving five assists.
Former Russian national team player Ruslan Nigmatullin said earlier that tickets for matches featuring Messi are sold out in the United States in eight minutes.
