The 2022 FIFA World Cup champion with the Argentine national team, and forward for MLS club Inter Miami Lionel Messi has spoken about his time with the French club Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi told ESPN AR:
I have nothing against them [PSG], but unfortunately, it didn't turn out as I had hoped. Personally, I had a hard time with the change; it was very difficult for us. That affects me a lot emotionally."However, while in Paris, the best thing happened to me: becoming a world champion. In Paris, the neighbors would ring the doorbell to ask us to keep the noise down; the neighbours were tough. It was 9 or 10 at night.
Messi played for PSG from 2021 to 2023. The Argentine participated in 75 matches, scoring 32 goals and providing 35 assists. With the Parisian club, the player became a French champion twice and won the country's Super Cup once.
Currently, Messi has been representing Inter Miami since the summer of 2023. In 29 matches played for the American team, the Argentine forward scored 26 goals and provided 16 assists. His contract with the American team runs until mid-2025. The Transfermarkt website estimates the player at 30 million euros.
In a recent interview, the Argentine confirmed that Inter Miami will be his final club.
