Sports magazine ESPN has released its ranking of the best football players of the 21st century, with Lionel Messi, the striker for American team Inter Miami and Argentina's national team, topping the list.
Cristiano Ronaldo, forward for Saudi club Al-Nassr, secured second place, while French player Thierry Henry claimed third.
Messi is a world champion, Olympic champion, two-time Copa America winner, and winner of the Finalissima. He has represented the Argentine national team since August 2005 and has been playing for Inter Miami since July 2023.
Previously, the same magazine reported that Lionel Messi will miss the MLS All-Star Game due to a leg injury.
