PSG forward and Argentina captain Lionel Messi may play for his hometown team Newell’s Old Boys in a friendly in the summer, Infobae reports.
The meeting will be timed to mark the end of Messi's former national teammate Maxi Rodriguez's career. It is expected to take place on June 16.
Messi is a pupil of the Newell's Old Boys. He joined Barcelona from the Argentine club at the age of 13.
Earlier, the media reported that Messi is not going to renew his contract with PSG due to changes in the proposed financial conditions. The 35-year-old Argentine has been playing for the Parisians since the summer of 2021. Messi has 16 goals and 14 assists in 27 games in the 2022/23 season.
