Forward of the Argentine national team Lionel Messi stated that he feels calm before the 2024 Copa America final. This will be the tenth final in his career with the national team.
He stated that he is calm as usual and preparing for the game by doing his daily activities. Messi said he is much calmer now than before, after everything the team has been through in recent years.
The Argentine also emphasized that he tries to enjoy the moment and live each moment to the fullest, and when the final arrives, the team will focus on the game.
Messi said in an interview with Fox:
We watched the Uruguay vs Colombia match. We knew it would be tough with any team. Colombia hasn't lost in a long time, they have good players - very fast and dynamic. This is the final. The final is always a different game. We are fine, as we have been throughout the entire Copa America.
The tournament final will take place on the night of July 14-15 and will start at 03:00 GMT+3. The national teams of Argentina and Colombia will compete for the championship title.
Earlier, Messi stated that this would be his last Copa America in his career. He also hinted at retiring from the national team.
