Argentinian forward Lionel Messi of Inter Miami is close to extending his contract with the American club, according to journalist David Ornstein on his social media.
Ornstein reported that the parties are discussing the terms of a new contract, and the 37-year-old may soon sign a new agreement lasting until 2026.
Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023, and his current MLS contract runs until the end of 2025. So far this season, he has played nine matches for Inter Miami, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
