PSG forward Kylian Mbappe may become the new captain of the French national team, replacing Hugo Lloris, who ended his career with the national team.
According to French media, the 24-year-old player is the leading candidate for the vacant post. Potential candidates for the captaincy were Steve Mandanda and Karim Benzema, but both have also ended their international careers.
It should be noted that Les Bleus vice-captain Rafael Varane announced the end of his international career on February 2. Milan striker Olivier Giroud is also expected to announce his retirement.
Mbappe, 24, has made 26 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, scoring 25 goals and providing six assists. Transfermarkt estimates the player's market value at 180 million euros.
