France's forward, Kylian Mbappe, commented on the victory over Portugal (0:0, 5-3 on penalties) in the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Football Championship.
He noted that he only scored one goal but was very happy that the team made it to the semifinals.
Mbappe told L'Équipe:
I hope I can help the team in the semi-finals. The final, but above all I am very happy for the team. It is up to me to live up to Spain's level.
The forward has a goal and made an assist in four games of the tournament.
In the semifinals, France will face Spain. The match will take place on July 9, starting at 22:00 GMT+3.
