Manchester United defeated Fulham 1-0 at Old Trafford in the opening round of the Premier League, with Joshua Zirkzee scoring on his debut.
The Dutch international saved Manchester United from a frustrating evening at Old Trafford by tapping in Alejandro Garnacho’s cross in the 87th minute.
Zirkzee said in a post-interview
"To win here in my first home game and to grab a goal, it couldn't be better," said Zirkzee. "I've been told (scoring at the Stretford End) is one of the best feelings at Manchester United. I'm so thankful and blessed I could experience it in my first game. It's an amazing feeling."
Manchester United's second-round fixture will be a clash with Brighton on August 24 at the Ammex Stadium.
