According to Football Transfers, scouts from Manchester City are considering Jose Luis Vaia ("Pepelu"), a midfielder from Valencia, as a potential replacement for Rodri, who is sidelined with an injured cruciate ligament.
The club believes that signing the 26-year-old Spaniard would be a smart move during the winter transfer window.
Vaia is being viewed as a temporary substitute for Rodri while he recovers, and in the long term, he is seen as a worthy replacement for the Ballon d'Or winner.
Vaia has been with Valencia since July 2023, playing a total of 52 matches, scoring ten goals, and providing three assists. The midfielder's contract with the club expires at the end of June 2028. His transfer market value is estimated at 22 million euros by Transfermarkt.
