INEOS, the British chemical holding company and co-owner of English Premier League club Manchester United, has decided to terminate the ambassador contract with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
According to The Athletic, the 82-year-old Ferguson will remain as a non-executive director of the club and will still be invited to Manchester United matches.
It's worth noting that Sir Ferguson managed Manchester United from November 1986 to May 2013, leading the team to thirteen Premier League titles, five FA Cup victories, two Champions League triumphs, and one UEFA Super Cup win.
On August 21, Daily Record reported that Ferguson assisted Scottish League One club Inverness Caledonian Thistle in eliminating a debt of three million pounds.
