Man Utd Plan To Build New Stadium For €2.4 Billion To Replace Old Trafford

Manchester United, the Premier League club, intends to construct a new stadium with a seating capacity of 100,000, according to The Telegraph.

Sources reveal that club management believes building a new arena is a more feasible option than renovating the historic Old Trafford. The new stadium is expected to take six years to complete, with the project estimated to cost €2.4 billion. The construction is likely to occur at the same site as the current Old Trafford.

Opened in February 1910, Old Trafford currently has a seating capacity of 74,310. In October 2023, club owner Jim Ratcliffe, a businessman and owner of the chemical firm Ineos, expressed his desire to increase the stadium's capacity to 90,000. However, Old Trafford will not be one of the venues hosting the European Championship in 2028.
