Rodri, midfielder for Manchester City and the Spanish national team, commented on the potential for a football strike driven by the excessively congested fixture schedule.
Rodri stated, as reported by the BBC:
I think we are close to that – it is easy to understand. If you ask any player he will say the same. It’s the general opinion of the players. And if it keeps this way, there will be a moment where we have no other option.
In the 2024/25 English Premier League (EPL) season, Rodri has played one match for Manchester City without any goal involvements. The Citizens currently have 12 points after four matches and sit at the top of the league standings.
In their next outing on September 22, Guardiola's team will host London’s Arsenal, with the match set to begin at 18:30 GMT+3.
Earlier, it was reported that Real Madrid is interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
