Man City Striker Haaland May Miss the Rest of 2024/2025 Season Due to Injury

According to journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland may miss the rest of the 2024/2025 season due to an injury.

The 24-year-old striker sustained an ankle injury during the away match in the FA Cup quarterfinal against Bournemouth, which ended in a 2-1 victory for City. In that game, Haaland missed a penalty in the 14th minute, scored a goal in the 49th minute, and was substituted in the 61st minute.

The source reports that due to the injury, the Norwegian is expected to return to the field only towards the end of the current season, around the start of the club's World Cup in June 2025.

During the 2024/2025 season, Haaland participated in 28 Premier League matches, scoring 21 goals and providing three assists, besides playing nine times in the UEFA Champions League where he scored eight goals. His current contract with Manchester City is set to expire at the end of June 2034. The Transfermarkt portal estimates Haaland at 200 million euros.

On March 18, El Nacional reported that the star forward might leave the team if Manchester City fail to secure a spot in the Champions League.
