The English Premier League (EPL) has announced the name of the winner in the voting for the best player of the 2022/23 season on its official website.
Twenty club captains of EPL clubs and a group of football experts took part in the poll. Manchester City forward Erling Haaland won the vote by a wide margin, beating his teammate Kevin De Bruyne as well as Harry Kane (Tottenham), Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka (both Arsenal), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) and Kieran Trippier (Newcastle).
Haaland, 22, who is making his debut season in the EPL, recorded 36 goals and eight assists in 35 games. The Norwegian was previously named the Premier League Player of the Year by the Sportscasters' Association of England.
