The management of Liverpool is interested in inviting the current coach of Bayer Leverkusen Xabi Alonso to become the team's manager after the departure of Jurgen Klopp.
The German specialist announced his retirement from the Reds' managerial position at the end of January 2024 after more than eight years at Anfield.
According to MirrorFootball, Liverpool scouts were present at the Bundesliga match where Alonso's Bayer beat Bayern 3-0.
Earlier, the sporting director of the Leverkusen club Simon Rolfes confirmed that Alonso will remain in charge of Bayer. There was also information that Barcelona is also interested in the services of the former Spanish national team midfielder.
