Benfica and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández may change his club after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to Sports Illustrated, citing ESPN Futbol Argentina, Liverpool are ready to pay €120 million for the 21-year-old player, as compensation under his contract with Benfica. It is noted that the club and the player are close to agreeing on the terms of a personal contract.
Earlier it was reported that the English may compete with Real Madrid in the fight for the talented Argentine.
Fernández joined Benfica in the summer of 2022 from River Plate for €12 million. His contract with the Lisbon side runs until 2027.
Fernández is currently playing for the Argentines at the 2022 World Cup. They will face Croatia in the tournament semi-finals. The meeting takes place on December 13 and begins at 22:00 GMT+3.
