Lionel Messi, the Argentine forward for Inter Miami, will attend the 125th anniversary celebration of FC Barcelona. This news was reported by Goal, citing Catalunya Radio.
Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, personally invited Messi to the gala event commemorating this milestone. The celebration will take place on November 29 at the Liceu theater. Messi has accepted the invitation and plans to be present for the evening's festivities.
Messi, a graduate of the Blaugrana academy, La Masia, played for the first team from 2005 until 2021, during which he made 778 appearances, scoring 672 goals and providing 303 assists.
In the current La Liga season, Barcelona are sitting at the top of the league table with 33 points.
It was also recently announced that Messi has matched the record for most assists in the national team set by US player Landon Donovan.
