Turin's Juventus is showing interest in 24-year-old Canadian forward Jonathan David from French club Lille, according to Calciomercato.com.
The interest in the striker arose at the end of the summer transfer window. Both the head coach of the Italian club, Thiago Motta, and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli have taken a liking to the player.
There is a possibility that Juventus could negotiate a transfer fee of 15 million euros for the player in January 2025. It has also been reported that this transfer should be considered separately from the situation involving the potential sale of Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Jonathan David hopes to earn 6 million euros per year at the Turin club.
David has been with Lille since August 2020. In his time with the club, he has made 192 appearances, scored 87 goals, and provided 20 assists. His contract with the French side runs until the end of June 2025. According to Transfermarkt, the forward's market value is estimated at 50 million euros.
Earlier, El Nacional reported that 32-year-old Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, currently playing for Liverpool, could join Juventus at the end of the 2023/24 season.
