Marcel Lička, the head coach of Moscow's Dynamo, commented on the Czech national team's performance in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net regarding the European Championship.
Due to training, I didn't watch the Czech Republic's match against Georgia, only the one before against Portugal. Portugal is on another level: if we had drawn against them, it would have been a big plus for us. Today ended 1-1, but beating Georgia was necessary to have the option of drawing in the last match. Now, against Turkey, we must win – a draw wouldn’t give us anything anymore. As a Czech, I believe in our victory in the match against Turkey.
"I watched Turkey's game with Georgia, one of the best matches in the European Championship. A great, open game. Turkey has good, they have strong players, but the Czechs need to win. Turkey will approach the third match in a slightly better position because there will be immense pressure on the Czechs.Poor realization? I don't want to judge the game – today we had 26 shots, which is a very good indicator," said Lička.
On June 22nd, the Czech Republic played a draw against Georgia with a score of 1:1 in the second round of the Euro 2024 group stage. With one point after two matches, the Czech team currently holds the third position in the group. The Czech Republic vs. Turkey match will take place on June 26th.
