Lecce Fires Head Coach For Headbutting Verona Player

The leadership of Lecce (Italy) dismissed manager of the team Roberto D'Aversa for headbutting Verona striker Thomas Henry during a Serie A match.

The meeting ended with a minimal victory of the opponents of D'Aversa's team. Henry argued with Lecce defender Marin Pongračić at the end of the match, and then with the opposing coach after the final whistle. Roberto was sent off along with the opposing forward for headbutting.

Statement of Lecce
After the events that occurred at the end of the Lecce-Verona match, Lecce announces that it has relieved coach Roberto D'Aversa of his duties. Thanks go to the coach and his staff for the work done.

Lecce is 15th in the standings of the Italian Serie A after 28 rounds.
