Seventeen-year-old winger Lamine Yamal, who plays for Barcelona and the Spanish national team, expressed his desire to spend his entire professional career with the Catalonian club.
Yamal stated in an interview with El Hormiguero:
I wouldn't want €120 million, because that would mean leaving Barça. I hope I never have to leave. I want to be a legend.
A product of Barcelona’s youth academy, Yamal has been making appearances for the first team since August 2023. This season, he has participated in four matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
His contract with Barcelona is set to run until the end of June 2026, with Transfermarkt estimating his market value at €120 million.
According to Sport.es, sports agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Yamal, is working to negotiate an increase of salary for his client at the club. Yamal also commented on the frequent comparisons drawn between him and Inter Miami's Lionel Messi.
