La Liga President Javier Tebas has identified the best player in the history of the Spanish league and globally.
Tebas said on the podcast The Wild Project:
Best Spanish player? Butragueño. Best player to ever play in La Liga? Leo Messi. Best player ever in history? Leo Messi.
Lionel Messi played for FC Barcelona from 2003 to 2021, before moving to French club PSG and currently playing for American team Inter Miami.
During his time at Barcelona, Messi made 778 appearances, scored 672 goals, and provided 303 assists. With the Catalan club, the Argentine won ten La Liga titles, seven Copas del Rey, and eight Supercopa de España titles, as well as four UEFA Champions Leagues, three UEFA Super Cups, and three FIFA Club World Cups.
The Transfermarkt website estimates the market value of the legendary Argentine at 30 million euros.
