Toni Kroos, Real Madrid and Germany midfielder, has revealed why he decided to end his professional football career after the 2024 European Championship.
Kroos said to Marca:
I didn't want to have the feeling that the people around me had to tell me that it's over. Or that I would end up sitting here on the bench for another two or three years. That, in some ways, wouldn't be worthy of a career, so I'm glad, that I was able to avoid all those things.
May 21, German midfielder of los Blancos confirmed the information about his decision to retire after the European Championship in 2024.
