Former midfielder of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and the German national team Toni Kroos has written a letter dedicated to the end of his professional career.
Kroos wrote on his social media:
So that’s it. But before I take a break and at least try to realize what happened over the last 17 years, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to say thank you to everyone for accepting me how and who I am. Last but not least: Thank you Football! You beautiful game. And… you‘re welcome! Over and out.
It was previously reported that Kroos would end his professional career after Euro 2024.
The midfielder became a world champion in 2014 with the German national team and also won bronze medals twice in the Euros. Throughout his career, he never managed to win the continental championship.
