Former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, according to Bild.
The ceremony coincided with the Day of German Unity, celebrated on October 3. The award was presented to Klopp by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Bild quotes the statement regarding Klopp's award:
Success and fame have never prevented him from seeing the individual in every athlete.
This summer, Klopp stepped down as Liverpool's coach and announced his desire to take a break from his career. There have been rumors that he could take charge of the German national team, but as of now, he has no intention of returning to coaching.
