National Liberation Army rebels have issued a statement regarding the kidnapping of the father of Liverpool and Colombia midfielder Luis Diaz.
The Guardian quotes the representative of the ELN as saying:
This situation is not allowing for the execution of the release plan quickly and safely, where Mr Luis Manuel Díaz is not at risk. If operations continue in the area, the release will be delayed and risks will increase.
Recall, on October 28, armed men abducted the parents of the Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. Later it became known that the mother of the 26-year-old Colombian was released. Fans of the national team of Colombia demanded to cancel the qualifying match of the World Cup-2026 against Brazil because of the situation with the kidnapping of Diaz Senior.
Earlier, Liverpool winger Luis Diaz saved Liverpool from defeat in an away match of the 11th round of the EPL against Luton Town (1:1) and after scoring a goal drew attention to the kidnapping of his father.
