The German sports publication Kicker reported that Thomas Tuchel, the head coach of the Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, is interested in a similar position at Manchester United of the English Premier League.
According to their information, the 50-year-old German specialist would like to work with the "Red Devils." Tuchel is drawn to the traditions, brand, stadium, and financial resources of the Manchester club. However, the Munich coach can only take over at Manchester United if their current coach, Erik ten Hag, is dismissed. According to journalist and insider Steve Bates the leadership of United is not about to make this step.
On February 21, the press service of Bayern officially announced that Tuchel will leave his post at the end of the 2023/2024 season. This decision was made after negotiations between the coach and the club.
Tuchel took charge of Munich in March 2023, succeeding his compatriot Julian Nagelsmann. The manager became the Bundesliga champion in the 2022/2023 season with the club.
After 21 matchdays of the current Bundesliga season, Bayern has 50 points and occupies the second position in the league table, trailing leaders Bayer by eight points.
