Kenya will make its debut at the FIFA Under-17 Girls World Cup this year in the Dominican Republic next month, and the Junior Starlets, as the team is nicknamed, see this as an opportunity to make the next steps in their budding careers.
Speaking exclusively to Telecomasia.net, captain Elizabeth Ochaka says playing at the biggest stage of world football will expose the team's talent to a wider audience, and she believes many in the team will land professional contracts.

This is a very big opportunity for us because we are playing at the biggest stage. We will have more scouts, more teams watching us and I know for sure, maybe up to 10 of us or even more might land big contracts after that. I believe we have a very good team with lots of great players. This is the perfect age for us to start our professional careers and we are going to do our best.
The Starlets became the first ever Kenyan team, male or female, at any age category, to qualify for the World Cup.

Kenya, Nigeria, and Zambia have qualified to represent Africa. Kenya is scheduled to travel to Spain for a two-week training camp before the tournament.
