RMC Sport reported that 36-year-old French Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema appealed to the club's management with a request for a temporary departure from the team.
According to the source, the request of the Frenchman has to do with the great pressure that is being put on him. The forward was late arriving at the team's training camp and was suspended as a result. Now Benzema trains individually.
The club, in turn, offered the player a loan to another Saudi Arabian championship club, but Benzema refused this option.
The striker has been playing for Al-Ittihad since July 2023 after transferring from Real Madrid. Benzema has 12 goals and five assists in 20 matches.
