Juventus Aim to Loan Araujo or Christensen from Barcelona This Winter

Turin's Juventus are looking to loan two central defenders from Barcelona. This information was reported by journalist Alfredo Pedulla on his social media.

According to the source, Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen are on  the shortlist of Juventus. The Italian club hopes that their good relationship with Barcelona's management will facilitate the loan of one of these center-backs in the upcoming January transfer window.

Araujo joined the Catalan club in October 2020. He has played a total of 150 matches for the first team, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. The Uruguayan's contract with Barcelona runs until the end of June 2026, and his transfer value is estimated at €55 million by Transfermarkt.

Christensen has been part of Barcelona since July 2022. He has made 75 appearances for the team, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His contract is also valid until June 2026, with a transfer value set at €20 million by Transfermarkt.

It is important to note that Araujo has yet to play a match this season due to injury, while Christensen has only been on the field for 26 minutes in the first matchday of La Liga against Valencia in August (2:1) due to an injury.

Currently, Juventus sit in sixth place in the Serie A standings, having earned 32 points after 18 matches.

Previously, a Spanish court rejected Barcelona's appeal regarding the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the La Liga season.

Besides, the Catalan club's management aims to generate at least €80 million from player sales during the summer transfer window.
