Former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp discussed the reasons behind his appointment as head of football operations for Red Bull.
The German left his position with the Reds, with whom he won the Champions League and Premier League, after the 2023/2024 season, citing fatigue as the reason for his decision. Klopp began his new role at Red Bull on January 1, 2025.
Klopp said, as quoted by Florian Plettenberg:
Jurgen Klopp
Because it’s a different role. I’ve always said that I love what I do. After a thousand matches and press conferences, I wanted a fresh start and a new opportunity. For this stage of my life, it's the perfect step.
Earlier, Jurgen admitted that he cannot forget Liverpool's defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in 2022. It was reported that Klopp intends to lead the German national team in the future.
