Japan National Team First to Qualify for 2026 World Cup

A match took place in the 7th round of the qualifying stage for the 2026 World Cup between the national teams of Japan and Bahrain, where Japan secured a confident 2-0 victory.

With this win, the Japanese team became the first to claim their spot in the World Cup. The goals were scored by Daichi Kamada and Takefusa Kubo, both of which happened in the second half of the match.

In Group 3 standings, Japan leads with 19 points accumulated over seven matches, while Bahrain sits in fifth place with six points.

The 2026 World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. As host nations, these three countries automatically qualify for the final stage of the tournament. Japan has now become the fourth team to secure a place in the tournament.
