Italian journalist and commentator Filippo Cotti assessed the prospects of Italy's national team head coach Luciano Spalletti following the elimination of the Italian national team from Euro 2024 in an exclusive interview with to Telecomasia.net.
Filippo Cotti exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
I don't think he will be fired. It is too early to talk about it. There might be more modern and suitable coaches out there, but I don't think the Italian federation will change its opinion about him now. In the match against Italy, Switzerland outplayed them in every aspect. The Italians could hardly contain Xhaka and N'Doye. Switzerland plays modern and entertaining football. England will have a tough time against them, as Switzerland is a team that can efficiently put their stars to use.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Spalletti will retain his position until the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in North America.
The reigning European champions were defeated by Switzerland on June 29 in the Round of 16 match, ending their campaign at Euro 2024.
