Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Miloud Hamdi will get his first taste of the Kariakoo Derby when he leads out the team against arch rivals Simba, and he says he is not scared or afraid ahead of the mammoth clash.
Yanga and Simba is a signature fixture in the Tanzanian Premier League and Hamdi, who just recently joined the club after the departure of Sead Ramovic, will get his first taste of the intense pressure associated with the game.
Speaking to Telecomasia ahead of the game, the Algerian coach says he is ready and excited.
I am not afraid of this game. We are a big team, we are Young Africans. Afraid about what? I have big confidence on my players and I know they will give the best. Yes, there is pressure but is a beautiful game to play. I have played derbies before in my career as a coach and I know the expectation. I am excited for my first derby in Tanzania.
He says his team is looking forward to pick three points and increase the gap in the standings, with only four points separating them though second placed Simba have a game in hand.
This is a special game and not like any other game. It will be very tactical but we have to be strong and well prepared. The fans have been very special to us and we have to give them something to celebrate and something to be proud about. That is mostly a win in the derby.
The first leg meeting between these two sides ended in a 0-0 draw.
