Iranian state TV interrupted the broadcast of the national team's match with England in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The incident occurred when the players didn't sing the national anthem before the start of the meeting, reports Reuters. Media also reported that Iranian fans booed the national anthem before the start of the match.
A meeting between England and Iran was held on November 21. Match of the group stage of the first round of the World Cup 2022 ended with a resounding victory of the English team with a score of 6-2.
Midfielders Jude Bellingham, Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, as well as striker Marcus Rashford and winger Bukayo Saka, who scored a double, were the ones to score for the winners. The Iranian team's forward Mehdi Taremi scored a double.
