According to sports journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his social media page, PSV and Netherlands midfielder Xavi Simons has left PSV Eindhoven to sign for PSG.
The Parisians have reportedly triggered a buyout clause for the 20-year-old midfielder for $6 million. It is noted that Simons will stay at PSG only if one of the two main forwards of the team, Kylian Mbappe or Neymar, leaves. Otherwise, the Dutchman will be sent out on loan.
Simons' contract with the Farmers was set to run until the end of June 2027. In the season-2022/2023 Eredivisie midfielder played 34 matches, scoring 19 times and giving eight assists. According to Transfermarkt, Simons is worth €40 million.
