Sports journalist and insider Melissa Reddy has reported that Manchester City midfielder and Belgium national team captain Kevin De Bruyne is monitored by six clubs in the Premier League.
Aston Villa are the leading contenders to acquire 33-year-old De Bruyne. However, the midfielder is also being pursued by Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United. Italian Serie A club Como has also made a contract offer. Nevertheless, according to Reddy, De Bruyne will prioritize his football career and the well-being of his family when choosing his next team, which means he is not inclined to leave England.
On April 4, De Bruyne announced on his social media that he plans to leave Manchester City, where he has played since August 2015, after the end of the 2024/2025 season. During his time with City, he has claimed six Premier League titles (2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024) and the UEFA Champions League title for the 2022/2023 season. On April 8, ESPN reported that De Bruyne could join MLS club Inter Miami in summer 2025.
In the 2024/2025 Premier League season, De Bruyne has played 24 matches, scoring three goals and providing seven assists. He has also participated in seven UEFA Champions League matches. His market value is estimated at €27 million by Transfermarkt.
