Danish journalist Rasmus Tantholdt was attacked by security guards who are supposed to provide security for the World Cup.

Tantholdt was forced to interrupt a live broadcast from Qatar after the security guards threatened to smash the reporter's camera. The security guards ignored the argument that the journalists had been invited to the country and issued an accreditation allowing them to film in public places. According to the Dane, this behavior of the guards is indicative of the state of affairs in Qatar in general.

Rasmus Tantholdt, quoted by NRK
You can be attacked and threatened when you act as a free media outlet. It speaks volumes about the kind of country we are in. This is not a free and democratic state.

The Qatar World Cup kicks off on November 20 with a match between the tournament hosts and Ecuador. The game will start at 4 p.m. GMT. The 32-nation tournament runs until December 18 and ends with the final match in the city of Lusail.
