Aftonbladet quotes Ibrahimovic as saying:
I wore the jersey with pride and love. I also had the honor of captaining the team. To the younger generation, I want to say, dare to dream big. I am living proof that nothing is impossible regardless of where you come from.
The 42-year-old Ibrahimovic is the top scorer in the history of the Swedish national team. He announced the end of his professional career on June 5, 2023.
The European Championship 2024 will take place from June 14 to July 14 in ten cities in Germany. In the group stage, Sweden will play against the teams of England, Slovenia, and Denmark.
Earlier, Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak surpassed Ibrahimovic's achievement to become the top Swedish scorer in the history of the English Premier League.
Ibrahimovic himself admitted that ending his career was not easy due to his ego.
