On December 2, the national team of Uruguay defeated the national team of Ghana in the third round of the group stage match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which ended with a score of 2-0. Midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta scored a double for the winners.
Despite the win, Uruguay finished third in the group with four points. Portugal, with six points, is in first place in the playoffs. South Korea, with four points and the best extra ratings, finished second. Ghana, with three points, closed Group H.
