Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick commented on his team's performance against Rayo Vallecano in their La Liga match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Catalan club.
Flick said in a post-match interview, as reported by Barca Universal on social media:
We were not able to press and we were not good with the ball. In the second half we were much better. I think the three points are fair.
Flick acknowledged that the first half of the match was not as successful as they had hoped. He stated that the team did not press effectively enough and did not display optimal ball movement. However, he noted that Barcelona's performance improved in the second half, and the team looked much better.
The coach also addressed the injury to Marc Bernal, which he believes looks serious. Flick expressed support for the player, mentioning that he had been performing well and did not deserve such an injury. He assured everyone that Pedri is fine and only has a minor bruise.
After three rounds, Barcelona has accumulated nine points and sits at the top of the La Liga standings, while Rayo Vallecano, with four points, is in eighth place. Barcelona's next match is scheduled for August 31 at 18:00 GMT+3 against Valladolid. Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano will face Espanyol in the fourth round on the same day at 20:15.
