Famous European publication FourFourTwo has released its ranking of the best central midfielders in the world today. At the top of the list is 33-year-old German player Ilkay Gündogan from Manchester City.
Federico Valverde from Real Madrid claims the second spot, while Gündogan's teammate Bernardo Silva comes in third.
Gündogan has played 310 matches for the Citizens, scoring 60 goals and providing 38 assists. With the English club, he has become a Champions League winner and is also a five-time Premier League champion. Prior to this, the German played for Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.
