Manchester City's manager Pep Guardiola discussed the rivalry between his team and Liverpool and praised the main coach of the Merseyside club, Jurgen Klopp.
At a press conference before the FA Cup match against Chelsea, Guardiola said:
Pep Guardiola
I admire Liverpool. Whatever happens this season, I admire Liverpool. When I said Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool always has been, it's that, it's the team that faced us, the real, real contender that faced us face to face, goes against you, six/seven years.
It is noteworthy that Klopp announced his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the current season. Guardiola, on the other hand, has not commented on his future at Manchester City, with his contract expiring in 2025.
There have been reports that in case Guardiola leaves his position as City's manager, the team could be led by Michel, who currently coaches Girona, part of the City Football Group system.
