Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has commented on the substitution of his team's forward Erling Haaland in the 82nd minute after scoring four goals in the 36th round match of the English Premier League (EPL) against Wolverhampton (5-1).
BBC quotes Guardiola as saying:
He's a little bit frustrated, but I understand. He was frustrated with the referee. With the long balls sometimes they push him and he is pulled. In the end, we created more chances but in the transition, we were not precise in the last pass.
Norwegian striker Haaland has been playing for Manchester City since July 2022, with his contract expiring on June 30, 2027. This season, the forward has scored 36 goals and provided six assists in 41 matches across all competitions. Transfermarkt estimates the player at €180 million euros.
After this match, Manchester City sits in second place in the English league with 82 points. Guardiola's team trails Arsenal by just one point, although they have played one match fewer than the Gunners.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher previously stated that Haaland is not as accomplished as Henry, Suarez and Kane.
