Guardiola Declares He Won't Stay At Manchester City For Another Eight Years

In response to questions about his future with Manchester City, head coach Pep Guardiola stated that he does not plan to continue with the club for another eight years.

Guardiola told City Xtra:

So I'm not here for eight more years. So that's why I'm closer to leaving than staying. But I didn't say I'm leaving! When I’m leaving, I will say I’m leaving, but I didn’t say that. We will see what happens. But I will not rule it out absolutely to extend my contract. I would love to stay because I would love to stay.

Guardiola took charge of Manchester City in 2016 and has led the club to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and two FA Community Shields, along with four EFL Cup wins, the UEFA Champions League title, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

The current contract for the 53-year-old Spanish coach extends until the end of the 2024/2025 season. Earlier, Guardiola ruled out a potential return to a coaching role at Barcelona. Additionally, he confirmed that he does not plan to leave Manchester City this summer.
