Manchester City England head coach Josep Guardiola compared the team's Norwegian forward Erling Haaland to PSG Argentine striker Lionel Messi.
Josep Guardiola for ESPN
Erling since he started at Salzburg has got to the same level in terms of goals. It’s almost every game, he scores a goal. One or two every game, he had the chances to do it, but Messi is the most complete player I have seen in terms of vision, dribbles, passes, competitiveness, in many things that are difficult. Hopefully Erling can be so close [to] Leo – that will be great for us and him.
Haaland moved to Manchester City in the summer of 2022 from Borussia Dortmund. He played 50 matches for the English team, scoring 48 goals and giving eight assists. The forward spent 30 games in the English championship and scored 34 goals.
The Transfermarkt portal estimates the market value of the footballer at 170 million euros.
