Pep Guardiola has dismissed rumors of a conflict with Kevin De Bruyne, the midfielder for Manchester City. His words were reported by Sky Sports.
Pep Guardiola
People say I've got a problem with Kevin. Do you think I like to not play with Kevin? I don't want Kevin to play? The guy who has the most talent in the final third.
Guardiola noted that there couldn't be any personal issues after working together for nine years.
The Manchester City manager explained De Bruyne's recent less-than-stellar performances with his injuries (five months last season and two months this season) and his age (33 years).
De Bruyne has been with Manchester City since August 2015, making 393 appearances, scoring 103 goals, and providing 170 assists for the English giants.
Earlier, The Athletic reported that Guardiola has been isolating himself in his office, avoiding communication due to Manchester City's disappointing results.
